A&E Crime Central is a streaming video-on-demand service from A&E Networks with over 2000 episodes of true crime series.
If you’re a fan of true crime shows like The First 48 and Cold Case Files then you’ll love that you can find them on A&E Crime Central commercial-free.
The service is available only to subscribers in the United States and its territories on your favorite device. You can still access the website and stream their content with a good VPN if you’re located outside of the US.
To start watching true crime shows on A&E Crime Central, they offer a 7-day free trial and then it’s $4.99/month to subscribe.
On this page, I’ll show you how you can get multiple free trials which will get you more than 7 days free access. Read on and you’ll see how easy it is to get started.
How To Get An A&E Crime Central Free Trial
A free trial to A&E Crime Central is available only to new customers. If you’ve never tried the service before then you can claim a free trial where it is available.
The service is available via apps for iPhone, Android, FireTV, AppleTV and more. These apps will allow you to claim a free trial upon signup.
This guide will show you how to claim a free trial in an internet browser, which is how I claim all my free trials.
Here are some of the most common ways to get an A&E Crime Central free trial.
- Subscribe via the A&E Crime Central website
- Amazon Prime Video channels
- The Roku Channel
These are by no means all the ways you can get a free trial of A&E Crime Central. In this guide I’ll show you how to get a free trial with each of these methods. Since you’re billed separately, you can get at least 21 days to stream completely free.
Claim A&E Crime Central Free Trial Directly
This is possibly the best way to get a free trial of A&E Crime Central for a number of reasons.
Subscribing directly on the A&E Crime Central website offers a number of advantages over subscribing using the other methods.
- There’s only one subscription to worry about and nothing else to cancel.
- You can use your login credentials on the apps and watch on any device.
- You can watch in the app or directly in your browser.
- Multiple plan options are available including monthly, annual or bundle plans.
To get started with your 7-day free trial of A&E Crime Central from their website, click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button anywhere on the page. Continue with the signup process as outlined below.
1. Choose a subscription plan
The streaming service offers two basic plans. You can either subscribe monthly for $4.99 or annually at $49.99/year.
There is also a bundle plan where you can pay $9.99 and get A&E Crime Central, History Vault, and Lifetime Movie Club together for one price.
You can choose any plan to get started with your 7-day free trial.
2. Create your account with first name, email and password
The next step is to add your first name, your email address and to create a secure password.
You can click the “Continue” button to continue the signup process.
One thing I must mention here is that if you’ve already signed up to either History Vault or Lifetime Movie Club, you’re probably going to see an error saying to check your email or sign in.
You can either change the email address or try signing in and resetting your password.
If you don’t encounter a problem, you might want to try logging into Lifetime Movie Club and History Vault with your A&E Crime Central login credentials as you may be able to free trial those at the same time. I’ve already taken those trials so I’m not sure if they work this way.
3. Choose a payment method
Once you’re registered, it’s time to choose a payment method. Two options are shown – credit/debit card or gift card.
If you have a gift card, you wouldn’t be able to claim a free trial since a gift card is a paid subscription.
So to get a free trial, you’ll need to choose the credit/debit card option. There is no PayPal option for PayPal users unfortunately.
4. Enter your payment info
After choosing your payment method, you’ll need to fill out the checkout form with your card info.
5. Confirm your subscription
This is the final step in the signup process. You can confirm your subscription here before clicking on the “Subscribe” button to start watching.
On this page, you’ll see the price that will be charged after your 7-day free trial expires and you’ll also see the date when your free trial ends.
If you have a promo code, you can add it on this page.
Once you click subscribe, you’re all set and ready to go.

Prime Video is Amazon’s streaming video platform where you can get access to free movies and TV shows with a subscription and you can also subscribe to premium channels like Discovery+, PBS Living and XiveTV Documentaries, all starting with a free trial.
A&E Crime Central is one of those premium channels and you can add it with a subscription to Prime Video. If you’re not already a member, Prime Video offers a 30-day free trial so you can try out their service.

How To Cancel A&E Crime Central Subscription
If you want to cancel A&E Crime Central for whatever reason, this has to be done through the service where you subscribed.
So if you subscribed on The Roku Channel, then you’d have to go through your Roku account settings and cancel. Same with Prime Video.
If you subscribed through the website, you can easily cancel in your account settings as well. Here’s a walk-through on how to do that.
1. Go to manage your account
In the right-hand upper corner of the members area, click on your name and then click on “My Account” from the drop-down menu.
Doing this will take you to your account management area where you can do things like change your password, change your plan, edit your name and more.
2. Click on cancel your 7-day free trial
Depending on your screen resolution, you might have to scroll a little because they put the link to cancel all the way to the bottom of the page.
Click on the link to go to the next step in the cancellation process.
3. An offer to save some money
Now if you planned to stay subscribed to A&E Crime Central, this might be a good reason to go through the cancel process.
Most streamers do not want you to cancel so some of them try to sweet talk you into staying. Here, A&E gives you an offer for 50% off for the next three months. You’d have to skip the cancel process though.
Since we’re here to cancel, we’re going to skip the offer and continue the cancel process.
Click on the “No thanks” link under the bright yellow button.
4. Complete your cancellation
After you click on the “no thanks” link, you’ll be given this notice. Be sure to click the “Complete Cancellation” button to ensure that your subscription is cancelled.
There’s an option if you want to keep your subscription instead of cancelling.
5. Your cancellation is complete
Your cancellation was successful if you see this message. They reassure you that you wouldn’t be charged after your trial ends and you can watch until it expires.
6. The cancellation survey is optional
A cancellation survey is pretty much expected after or during the cancellation of most streaming services.
This one from A&E Crime Central is optional. You can complete it or just click on the X to get rid of it and go back to streaming as much as you can before your 7 days are up.
After completing or clicking the X on the cancellation survey, you’ll be taken back to your account settings where you’ll see evidence that your subscription has indeed been cancelled.
A&E Crime Central Price After Free Trial
After the free trial, the cost of A&E Crime Central is either $4.99/month or $49.99/year depending on your plan choice at signup.
If you chose the bundle, then the price for all three bundled services is $9.99/month.
You can cancel during your free trial to avoid being charged and then resubscribe later. If you’re going to take other free trials to extend your free days then you’ll need to do this.
Cancelling on the A&E Crime Central website gives you a nice surprise. You get an offer for $2.49/month for 3 months instead of $4.99/month.
