How To Get Your Discovery Plus Free Trial
Discovery Plus is available everywhere for all devices. Apps for Android and Apple, Roku, gaming consoles, FireTV and other smart TVs are available and you can also sign up and stream directly in your browser or a third party app.

1. Direct (Discovery+ Website)
Besides signing up directly on an app, subscribing directly through the Discovery Plus website is probably the best way to get started.
With your login credentials, you can log in to the apps on your favorite device or stream directly in your browser.

2. Amazon Prime Video Channels
Another way to subscribe to this awesome bundle is to get a 7-day free trial through Amazon Prime Video channels.
Prime Video lets you add hundreds of channels to your account all with a 7-day free trial. If you’re already a Prime member then it might make sense to keep one subscription and just add Discovery Plus to your account.
You’ll be able to watch in the Prime Video app or through your internet browser.
Starting Your Discover Plus Free Trial Directly
The best way to start your Discovery Plus free trial is probably directly through the official website which you can find here.
They offer a free 7-day trial and you can use the login credentials to log into any of the official apps and manage your account. You can also login to watch directly in your browser.

Here’s a step-by-step walk through of the signup process.
1. Choose your plan
There are two plans to choose from – either the ad-supported plan for $4.99/month or the ad-free plan for $8.99/month.
Since I’m doing a free trial, I opted for the ad-free plan. You’ll be able to change this later in your account settings if you change your mind and want to continue with the ad-supported plan.
2. Create your account with email & password

The next step is to enter your billing details. You can either use a credit card which is the pre-selected method or hit the drop-down arrow to use PayPal.

You will not be charged when you submit your billing information. You will only be charged after your free trial period ends if you do not cancel.
After a quick verification, you’ll be forwarded to your Discovery Plus account where you can start adding profiles or start streaming content.

Get Discovery+ on Amazon Prime Video
If you already have Amazon Prime then one of the perks is that you’ll get access to Prime Video. On Prime Video, you’ll be able to view on-demand movies and shows but you’ll also get to subscribe to premium channels like Paramount Plus, Britbox and AMC+.
Discovery Plus is also one of the channels you can subscribe to starting with a 7-day free trial.
If you don’t have access to Prime Video, you can sign up for Prime (or just Prime Video) and get a full 30-day free trial to try everything out.

Discovery Plus Pricing After Free Trial
Discovery Plus requires a credit card or PayPal in order for you to start your free trial. They however, wouldn’t bill you until after your free trial expires.
What you pay after the free trial expires is decided by you in the very first step of the signup process where you choose your plan.
There are two plans to choose from whether you subscribe on Amazon or through the official website. The ad-supported plan is $4.99/month and the ad-free plan is $8.99/month.
You can cancel at any time during your free trial to avoid being billed. You’ll lose access when the trial expires if you do cancel.
How To Cancel Discovery Plus Free Trial
Cancelling Discovery Plus is an easy process which involves just three steps if you subscribed through the official website.
If you subscribed at Amazon Prime Video, you’ll need to manage your channels and cancel there.
Below, I’ve outlined the process for cancelling when you subscribed to the free trial through the Discovery Plus website.
There are no annoying surveys to complete and no trying to sweet talk you out of cancelling with deals. Just three steps and you’re cancelled and wouldn’t be billed.
1. Go to your account settings
To get to your account settings page, click on the drop-down arrow next to your profile icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. Click on Account and this should take you to the screen above.
You’ll find the link to cancel your subscription in the “Plans” box to the left of the screen.
Click on the “Cancel” link to start cancelling your free trial.
2. Click the “Cancel Subscription” button
Obviously, they wouldn’t want you to leave so the next thing you’ll get is this pop-up asking you if you’re sure you want to cancel.
They’ll let you watch until your subscription ends and includes some information about where you can get help if you need.
To continue to cancel, click on the “Cancel Subscription” button.
3. Confirm that your subscription is cancelled
After clicking on the button to cancelled, you’ll see a quick notification on the screen letting you know that your subscription was cancelled and the text in the bottom of the “Plans” box should change letting you know that your plan will end.
You’ll have the option to reactivate your subscription at any time. If this shows in your account settings then this confirms that your subscription has been cancelled. You will also get a notification to the email address on your account.
What Shows Are On Discovery Plus?
There’s a lot to watch on Discovery Plus. With over 15 channels and over 1500 hours of content, you really have a lot to choose from when it comes to factual television.
Discovery Plus does a good job of breaking down what’s available by letting you select channels and further letting you browse using content tags. You can also just search for what you’re looking for if there’s a specific title you want to watch.
Whether it’s nature shows, cooking shows, reality TV, outdoor stuff or those house fixing shows, there’s a lot to choose from. Want movies? Discovery+ has Lifetime, where you can watch movies based on true crime, real life or just fictional stories.
Discovery+ Originals even has shows that are exclusive to the streaming service so if there is any reason to subscribe, this might be that reason.

With so much to watch, the ability to add to a watch list is another useful feature. You can then go to your watch list to see which shows you’ve added.
