BET+ is a subscription video-on-demand service operated by Paramount Streaming and Tyler Perry Studios.
The streamer produces both original films and original series and also shows other Hollywood-produced titles relevant to black culture.
Launched in September 2019, the service is only available to subscribers in the United States and US territories. Outside of the US, you can get access by using a VPN service.
BET Plus has over 2000 hours of content including Tyler Perry originals exclusively made for the streaming service, stage plays, and classic comedies.
For new subscribers, they offer a 7-day free trial before paying from $5.99/month. An annual subscription is an option to get some savings.
The streaming service is available on all devices and you can sign up in a number of ways including directly through the official website.
On this page, I’ll show you how to subscribe to BET Plus with a free trial and other information you may need to know about the service.
How To Get a BET Plus Free Trial
BET Plus is available as an app on most platforms like Android, iOS, AppleTV, Roku, and more. You can sign up through the app or any of the ways mentioned below.
Besides signing up through the app, there are a number of other ways to sign up and get a 7-day free trial.
The main way to sign up is directly through the BET Plus website.
You can also get a free trial by:
- adding the channel to your Prime Video account if you’re a Prime member on Amazon.
- subscribing via The Roku Channel
Below, I’m going to show you how to sign up directly and with Amazon. You can even do all three trials back-to-back and get up to 21 days of free BET Plus programming.
Get BET Plus Free Trial From Official Website
One of the best ways to get BET Plus is by signing up directly through the official website.
Doing it this way gives you a few advantages.
- There’s only one subscription to worry about – nothing else to cancel or manage.
- Use your login credentials on any of the service’s apps
- The cheaper $5.99/month plan is available to stream with limited ads.
- You get the option to subscribe annually to save some money (if you plan to stay that long)
- You can watch in your browser and in apps on your TV.
To start your free trial on BET Plus, just click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button to begin signing up. Follow the steps below to start watching with a free trial.
1. Enter email and password to create an account
To get started, you need fill in the account creation form. To create your BET Plus account, they ask for your email address, a secure password, your date of birth and your gender (to tailor messages and to give you a more relevant experience).
You can opt out of receiving marketing messages by unchecking the box below the form.
Continuing means that you agree to the BET+ Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Click the “Agree and Continue” button to continue the process.
2. Choose a plan
There are four plans to choose from when signing up for BET Plus. You have:
- Essential monthly – $5.99/month – you get access to everything but with limited ads.
- Premium monthly – $10.99/month – stream completely ad-free
- Essential yearly – $54.99/year – ad-supported plan with annual subscription
- Premium yearly – $104.99/year – ad-free plan with annual subscription
The savings from the annual plan is over 20% when compared to paying monthly for an entire year.
At this step, I would suggest choosing one of the monthly plans so that if you forget to cancel, you’d only get charged the smaller amount. You can change your plan at any time in the account settings once you’ve activated your account.
3. Enter your credit card info
After choosing your plan, you’ll need to enter your credit card info to start your subscription. BET Plus will not charge you when you click the subscribe button. Your card info is securely stored so that they can automatically bill you when your free trial ends.
You can cancel at any time to avoid getting charged.
Only one payment type is supported at the moment. There is no PayPal option available.
After subscribing, you’re taken to the BET Plus members area where you can set up your profile and start streaming content.
Add BET Plus on Prime Video Channels
Access to Amazon Prime Video channels is a perk of being a Prime member on Amazon. Prime Video channels let you add premium subscription channels such as AllBLK, Paramount Plus, and Starz, all with a 7-day free trial.

To add BET Plus to your Prime Video channels, follow the instructions below.
- Go to the BET Plus channel page in Prime Video.
- Click on the “More details” button on the channel banner.
- On the next page, click on the “Start Your free trial” button.
- Confirm your billing details on the next page.
- Click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button to start watching.
Amazon does not charge you when you start your free trial. You’ll be automatically charged when your trial expires unless you choose to cancel.
Get BET+ On The Roku Channel
Another great place to get a BET Plus free trial is on The Roku Channel.
The Roku Channel is a free app for users with Roku devices that carry free movies and TV shows as well as live TV. You can also add premium subscriptions like MGM+, A&E Crime Central and Shudder.
Even if you’re not a Roku user, you can still access The Roku Channel through their website and stream in your browser.
It’s easy to get started with a BET Plus free trial. Just register for a free Roku account and follow the instructions below.
- Go to the BET Plus channel page on The Roku Channel.
- Click on the “See Plans” button
- Add or confirm your payment details on the next page.
- Click “Start free trial” to begin watching
You will now be able to watch BET Plus content in The Roku Channel app or on the Roku Channel website in your browser. If you don’t want to be charged automatically after your free trial ends, you can easily cancel in your account settings.
BET Plus Pricing After Free Trial
BET Plus doesn’t charge you until after your free trial has expired. However, they require that you enter your credit card when you sign up.
When you do this, you choose from one of their four pricing options so that they’ll know what to charge you when your subscription kicks in.
You can pay one of the monthly subscription fees, either $5.99 for access to everything but with limited ads or $10.99 for the full premium experience and no ads. Or you can choose one of the annual subscription options, the ad-supported Essential plan for $54.99/year or the Premium plan for $104.99.
These are the options for when you’re subscribing via the BET Plus website. When you’re taking the free trial via a subscription platform like Amazon Prime Video, there are no annual options and the ad-supported monthly plan is not available. There is only one plan and it’s the one that costs $10.99/month.
By subscribing, you agree to be billed the amount on the plan you selected. You can avoid these charges by cancelling before your free trial ends.
What to Watch on BET Plus
BET Plus’ programming is targeted to a black audience. Movies and series offered by the service contain a primarily black cast.
The streamer, which is owned by Paramount Streaming, makes its own original movies and series and is also home to Tyler Perry’s productions whether classic Madea or new original programming and stage plays.

Should You Get BET Plus?
BET Plus has a great collection of content aimed at black audiences. With over 2000 hours filled with original movies and series not available anywhere else, Tyler Perry’s entire library including stage plays and classic shows and movies, plus series and movie favorites, there’s a lot of stuff to watch.
When compared to other streaming services with the same or similar price-point, BET Plus is pretty basic as they don’t offer downloads for offline viewing and no 4K support.
You’ll have to decide for yourself if it is worth it as there is a lot to watch and a 7-day free trial allows enough time for you to evaluate what the service is offering.
