MGM+ is a premium cable network that offers an over-the-top subscription service through online TV providers such as YouTubeTV, Amazon Prime Video, and AppleTV.
The OTT service was launched in 2019 as EPIX Now with apps for iOS, AppleTV, Android, Roku, and FireTV. It was rebranded to MGM+ in January 2023. The website version is also available as an option for subscribers.
The streaming service is known for its original series The Godfather of Harlem but also airs recent theatrically released movies as well as older ones.
Currently, MGM+ is only available to subscribers in the United States of America. If you’re outside of the US, you can watch by using a VPN service like Private Internet Access.
To get started with streaming MGM+, they offer a free trial of 7 days on most platforms although from time to time there are longer trials.
On this page, I’m going to show you how to get started with an MGM+ free trial and everything you need to know about subscribing to this premium streamer.
How To Start Your MGM+ Free Trial
Epix and its multiplex channels are available on major online television streaming providers like SlingTV, DirecTV Stream, and YouTubeTV.
For the direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service, it can be accessed in a number of ways directly and as a premium add-on channel, including:
Users can also download and signup through the MGM+ app for iOS devices, Android, Roku, and FireTV.
A free trial is available on all platforms where you can access MGM+ although it may not be so obvious that one is available through the MGM Plus website.
In this section, I’ll show you how to get an MGM+ free trial in several ways. You can even try them all for an extended free trial period.
Get 7 Days Free Directly on MGM Plus
When you get a free trial directly from the MGM+ website, you can use your login credentials with the streaming service’s apps for different devices.
You will also be able to stream in your browser and you wouldn’t have to worry about additional subscription fees or free trials.
When you first get to the MGM+ website, it’s not so obvious that a free trial is available. There are no free trial buttons. The “See Available Offers” button leads to a page with two plan options – the monthly billing plan which starts with a free trial or the annual plan with no free trial but you get two months free.
To start your 7-day free trial, choose the monthly plan and then follow the steps below.
1. Create your MGM+ account
To start your free trial, you’ll need to create an MGM+ account by adding your email address and creating a password.
Press the “Continue” button to add your payment info.
2. Enter your payment info
MGM+ requires that you add your credit card information in order to start the free trial. You aren’t billed until the trial is over and can cancel at any time to avoid paying.
This page lets you enter your credit card info. There are no options to use PayPal so you’ll need to have a credit card from one of the major credit card brands.
3. You’re subscribed. Get the app.
Once your billing info goes through, you’ll be forwarded to your account and you’ll see this pop-up that thanks you for subscribing and prompts you to download the app for your preferred device.
You can just exit this pop-up to continue browsing and streaming from your browser. Your account info will be shown and you’ll see when your free trial expires.
Get 7 Days Free with Prime Video Channels
If you already have Prime from Amazon, then it might be a good idea to just add MGM+ to your Prime Video account so you can watch all they have to offer.
In any case, adding MGM+ on Prime Video is another way to get an additional 7-day free trial so you may want to check out what Prime has to offer. You can get started with a 30-day free trial.
Prime Video lets you add over 100 channels, all of which give you a full 7-day free trial to get started.
To get started with MGM+, you’ll need to log into your Prime account and follow the instructions below to start your free trial.
- Go to the MGM+ channel page in Prime Video.
- Click on the “More details” button on the channel banner.
- Click on the “Start Your 7-day free trial” button.
- Review your details on the next page.
- Click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button to start watching.
You will not be billed until the free trial is over. You’ll need to cancel before the trial is over to avoid subscription charges.
Once you’ve started your trial, you will also have access to MGM+ multiplex channels (MGM+, MGM+ Hits, MGM+ Marquee, and MGM+ Drive-In) inside the live channels section.
Get 5 Days of MGM+ Free on YouTubeTV
The MGM Plus free trial on YouTubeTV is much shorter than other providers. They previously offered a 14-day free trial but that has now been shortened to 5 days as is the case with all the other trials on YouTubeTV that gave 14-day free trials.
YouTubeTV is a digital television provider where you can sign up and get live television channels and on-demand movies and shows with unlimited DVR and other features. You can get started with YouTubeTV with a 14-day free trial.
As a subscriber of YouTubeTV, you will be able to not just watch the available channels but you’ll also be able to add any of the premium add-on channels available.
MGM+ is one of those premium add-on channels and you can either add it when you signup or add it from your settings page once you’re a subscriber.
Check out how to get started with YouTubeTV and how to add premium channels like MGM+, Cinemax, and Max.
Price After MGM Plus Free Trial
Regardless of where you subscribe, MGM+ will cost $6.99 after the 7-day free trial.
From time to time, MGM+ has deals that will give you discounted pricing but there will be no free trial available in these cases.
For example, the offer available on the MGM+ website is $58.99 for the entire year, but you don’t get a free trial. This deal gives what works out to be about 2 free months of MGM+ so you have to decide whether you want 7 free days or 2 free months.
How To Cancel During MGM+ Free Trial
For whatever reason, you may not want to keep MGM+ or just want to cancel during your free trial to avoid getting billed.
Canceling only prevents you from getting billed when the free trial expires. You can keep watching until the end of the trial period.
The procedure for canceling differs depending on where you subscribed. If you subscribed via Prime Video, you cannot cancel through the MGM+ website as payments are billed through where you subscribed.
Direct subscribers via the MGM+ website can cancel in just 2 clicks. There are no annoying surveys to complete and no down-selling offers.
Here’s how easy it is to cancel MGM+ directly on the website.
1. Click on the “Cancel Subscription” link
While logged into MGM+, click on Profile at the top of the screen to go to your account and settings page.
Under subscription, you will see the “cancel subscription” link. Click it to continue.
2. Are you sure?
No company will want to lose subscribers. MGM+ gives you one pop-up to ask if you’re sure you want to cancel. There are no annoying surveys to complete and no down-selling offers to consider.
Clicking on the “Cancel Subscription” button here will do the trick. After clicking on this button, you’ll be taken back to the account page where you’ll notice you now have a button to restart your subscription.
This means that your subscription has been canceled and you wouldn’t be billed but you can still watch until your free trial expires.
