AMC+ is a premium streaming bundle comprising content from several brands including AMC, The Walking Dead Universe, Shudder, Sundance Now, BBC America, and IFC Films Unlimited.
Launched in June 2020, the subscription streaming service offers thousands of hours of original content, fan-favorite movies, award-winning shows, and live feeds from and full access to each of the brands in the network.
AMC+ is available to subscribers in the US and Canada, although the Canadian service carries a limited selection of titles from BBC America.
You can access AMC+ for a monthly subscription starting at $4.99 per month or a discounted rate of $6.99/month for the first year (billed at $83.88).
Like most streaming services, AMC+ offers a free trial to new subscribers. Their 7-day free trial gives you full access to the brands like Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited, all of which separately offer their own 7-day free trials.
Because you can sign up for AMC+ in so many ways, this means that you can get the 7-day free trial multiple times if you like.
Below, I’ll show you how to subscribe to AMC Plus and how to start your free trial.
How To Get Your AMC Plus Free Trial
There are many ways to get AMC+ so you can be able to watch on your device of choice. This means that you’ll be able to get an AMC+ free trial in different ways.
Here are some of the ways in which you can subscribe to this bundled service.
1. Direct (AMC+ Website)
This is the main way to sign up for AMC+. When you sign up here, you can just download the app on your favorite device and log in with the credentials you provided at signup.
You can go directly to the website and sign up here.
2. Subscription Platforms
You can also get AMC+ by subscribing through a few other platforms that carry other streaming services.
- Amazon Prime Video Channels – if you already have Prime or Prime Video from Amazon, you can easily add AMC+ as a channel. You’ll get 7 days to try it free.
- Apple TV – For Apple fans, this is the way to get AMC+.
- The Roku Channel – On your Roku TV or device, you can get a 7-day free trial through The Roku Channel.
3. TV Providers
If you use one of the following TV providers, you’ll be able to get an AMC+, however, most of these providers don’t offer a free trial for the service.
Pricing may vary depending on your provider and you’ll have to access the service through your provider’s app.
- Comcast Xfinity – No free trial is offered. The subscription is $6.99/month in addition to your Xfinity bill.
- Dish – No free trial is offered. Subscription is $6.99/month in addition to your Dish bill.
- SlingTV – AMC+ is $7/month in addition to your SlingTV plan choice. No free trial is offered.

To subscribe to AMC+ in Canada, the options are Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video channels.
Starting a Free Trial Through AMC Plus Directly
The best way to sign up for an AMC Plus free trial in my opinion is directly through their website.
It’s easy to get started – the signup is just two steps before you’re streaming award-winning shows, and horror movies from Shudder.
The only downside is that if you need to cancel, you’ll have to email customer service. However, customer service responds quickly and cancels your subscription or free trial without any questions.
Here’s how easy it is to start your free trial directly on the AMC+ website. After clicking on the Try for Free button, follow the steps below.
1. Enter your email and create a password
Creating an account is easy as it only requires your email and password. You must be 18 or older to subscribe.
The info you enter here will be used for logging into your account.
2. Enter your billing info
In the second step, you’re shown the options for subscribing – either choose a discounted first-year price or a monthly price to be billed when your trial ends.
You’ll see details of your subscription just below the billing form – how long your trial is, how much you’ll be charged, and the date when you’ll be charged.
Submit the form after entering all the correct details.
3. Start streaming movies and shows
That’s it. You’re done. Click the “Start Watching Now” button to start watching all the content that is offered here.
How To Get Your Free Trial On Amazon Prime Video
When you’re a subscriber of Amazon Prime, you get all sorts of great benefits including 2-day fast delivery, access to the Prime Video library, and more.
With Prime Video, you can watch originals and some content free or you can choose from over 100 channels to add. Each channel has a 7-day free trial before you pay a subscription fee.
AMC+ is one of those channels and when you try or subscribe, you’ll unlock content from the other channels in the bundle (Shudder etc) even though they’re available to try separately.
To try AMC+ for 7 days, you must add the channel on Prime. Here’s what you do.
- Go to the AMC+ channel page on Prime Video
- Click on the “Learn more” banner at the top to get started or mouse over any video and click “watch with a free 7-day trial”.
- Click on the “Start Your 7-day free trial” button.
- You can choose your plan and confirm your details on the next page.
- Click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button to start watching.
AMC+ Pricing After the Trial
There are three options to subscribe to AMC+.
Firstly, AMC+ has an ad-supported tier which costs $4.99/month. If you want the ad-free version of AMC+, this costs $8.99/month.
You can also choose to do annual billing. The cost of annual billing comes out at $6.99/month which is billed at $83.88/year.
The pricing isn’t too bad considering you’re getting content from 4 channels which each have their own subscription fees when you sign up for their respective standalone service. For example, Shudder by itself is $5.99/month.
AMC+ charges you after your 7-day free trial is expired as long as you don’t cancel.
What Shows Are On AMC Plus?
The most renowned show on AMC is undoubtedly The Walking Dead so subscribers are probably looking to sign up to catch this show and its multiple spinoffs like Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and The Ones Who Live.
Currently, you can’t watch seasons 1-11 on AMC+ on demand but there is a live feed for The Walking Dead so you may be able to catch all episodes.
You can also view The Walking Dead: Origins Season 1 and the spinoffs – The Walking Dead: World Beyond , The Walking Dead: Dead City and TWD:The Ones Who Live plus a lot of other TWD content on demand or via the live feed.
Besides The Walking Dead, there is also a fair bit of new and classic series from AMC and the other channels including:
- Mad Men
- Dark Winds
- Parish
- Chucky
- Riviera
- Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches
- Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire
- Orphan Black (from BBC America)
- Creepshow (from Shudder)
- The North Water (an AMC+ exclusive series)
- Gangs of London (an AMC+ exclusive series)
- The Salisbury Poisonings (an AMC+ exclusive series)
With Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited, you can catch festival favorites, original dramas, true crime stories, and independent movies.
Shudder brings horror classics and original exclusives to horror fans all in one place. You can watch the 2024 horror release Late Night With the Devil on AMC+ via Shudder.
Each channel also has collections which are curated picks of movies or shows to watch.
Check out AMC Plus for yourself to know if it’s worth having. If you want Shudder or one of the other networks, this may be a better way to subscribe since you get way more content in one subscription.
