Mighty Networks is primarily a community platform. Creators and brands can grow their own social platform where their customers, followers and fans can gather and have discussions.
It also doubles as a course platform as you can create and sell courses on one of their paid plans and grow dedicated communities around each course.
Mighty Networks also has the option of creating your own branded iOS and Android apps where you can bring together community, courses, live streaming and more.
The platform has it’s own native video and live streaming capabilities but also integrates with external tools like Zoom. You can create a range of content on Mighty Networks including rich text content, video, polls and events. Courses can be pure content which includes different types of media or cohort based.
Mighty Networks makes it easy for anyone to get started. They offer a 14-day free trial which doesn’t require a credit card to get going.
On this page, I’ll give you more details about the Mighty Networks free trial, how to get started and what to expect when you sign up.

Starting Your Mighty Networks Free Trial
Whether you choose to use Mighty Networks as a community platform or as a course creation platform, getting started is very easy.
You can start a 14-day free trial that will give you access to the plan that allows both community and course creation. No credit card details are required for you to get started, just your name, email address and a password to log in.
In this section, I’ll walk you through how easy it is to get started with your Mighty Networks free trial.
When you hit the “Start your free trial” button on the Mighty Networks website, you’ll follow the steps below to get signed up.
1. Enter your name or connect with a social account
The first step is to create your account by entering your first and last name and optionally adding your picture for your profile.
Instead of hitting next, you could click on one of the buttons below to connect either your Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Apple account to Mighty Networks to automatically sign up.
After you continue, you’ll be asked to accept Mighty Network’s terms of service.
2. Name your Mighty Network
Your next step is to give your community a name. There is a “Need a suggestion?” button that will give you a name if you’re stuck but this will likely be only good for a placeholder name since you know your brand best and why you’d want people to come together.
You can always change the name later in the settings so don’t think on this too much as you still have time to get properly set up.
3. You’re done. Explore your dashboard.
As soon as you’re done naming your Mighty Networks community, that’s it. You’ll be taken directly to your dashboard where you can explore and manage things.
14-Day Extended Free Trial
After your Mighty Networks free trial expires, you can upgrade to a paid plan at anytime. But did you know that you can get an additional 14 days free for a total of 28 days free trial?
If you’re not quite ready to upgrade, all you have to do is wait a bit and then you’ll get the offer for an extended free trial of 14 days free.
But where the original free trial didn’t require a credit card, you’ll need to enter your billing information to take advantage of this extension. At the end of this trial, you’ll be automatically billed for whatever plan you chose so either $39 or $119/month or the annual rate for the corresponding plan.
You also have the option to upgrade instead but having more free time is always nicer.
Mighty Networks Price After Free Trial
When you start a Mighty Networks free trial, you get access to everything that you can do with the platform. Except for the Mighty Pro experience where you can get your own branded app.
Mighty Networks has two regular plans besides the Mighty Pro plan. These are the Community Plan and the Business Plan. These differ in what you get access to after your free trial is over.
On the Community Plan, you get access to community features. You can build a community which comes with live streaming and native video, events, chat and messaging, Zoom integration and paid memberships.
This plan costs $39/month to get started or $33/month if you decide to go for annual billing.
If you plan to sell courses, then you’ll need to get on the Business Plan. This plan is what you experience while on the free trial and it comes with everything you get on the Community Plan plus courses, live cohort course creation and more.
The Business Plan costs $119/month or $99/month when you choose annual billing.
Mighty Networks doesn’t ask you for your credit card information when you sign up for a free trial so there is no automatic billing. This means after your 14 day free trial is over, you can get to choose which plan you want to be on even after experiencing the Business Plan.
If you’re trying out Mighty Networks for courses, then the right plan is their most popular plan, the Business Plan. The Community Plan is the right choice if you’re just trying to build a community first but this means you’ll lose access to any Business-only features you were using before your trial expired.
Mighty Pro
There’s another plan option after you’ve experienced what Mighty Networks can do and that is Mighty Pro. To get on this plan, you’ll need to book a demo and your pricing will be determined based on your individual needs.
The Mighty Pro plan is mainly for brands who want their own branded app on iOS and Android stores. You will also get strategy and migration services and support on this plan.
Many big brands who are using Mighty Networks use Mighty Pro for their own branded apps.

Mighty Networks Alternatives
Mighty Networks is a great community and course platform. It may not be perfect for everyone though. Different community platforms offer different features and benefits. You may also be a course creator who wants a platform that focuses more on courses but also has community features.
Whatever the reason, you may be looking for alternatives to Mighty Networks and there are quite a bit out there. Here are 5 of the best alternatives Mighty Networks in 2023 and beyond.
1. Circle
Circle is a community platform where creators and brands can build feature-rich communities with all the perks that can be found on Mighty Networks.
Core features include rich member profiles with group chats and private messaging, events, paid memberships and engaging discussions. Upgrades include native live stream video and the ability to host courses.
Circle is just as popular as Mighty Networks and the pricing is similar though Circle comes in a bit more affordable on their second tier pricing. A 14-day free trial is available on all three of their plans which includes the pricey Enterprise plan.
2. Thinkific
Thinkific is one of the top course platforms available on the internet in 2023. They certainly have a better course product than Mighty Networks but this is because that is their main focus as a platform.
Thinkific also has Thinkific communities which (along with courses) makes it a powerful alternative to Mighty Networks.
Features available include rich member profiles and @ mentions, live events that turn your community into a classroom with coaching, workshops, and more, reactions, threaded conversations, and lots more.
You can get started on Thinkific with either a free plan or a full 30-day free trial of one of their paid plans.
3. Kajabi
With a primary focus on courses, Kajabi is an all-in-one platform that also allows you to build communities. You can offer access to customers of your courses or other Kajabi products or it can be a standalone, paid membership or subscription.
Communities on Kajabi aren’t as feature-rich as Mighty Networks and the pricing is about 4 times more expensive to get started. However, if you’re more focused on doing courses, podcasts or coaching then Kajabi might be an option to check out.
There is a 14-day free trial available to join Kajabi and check things out but no free account to fall back on when the trial is over.
4. Honeycommb
Honeycommb is an alternative to Mighty Networks that allows you to have your own branded apps for iOS and Android. They also have a Web-only version that allows you to present your communities on the web.
Honeycommb has a host of features including native video for live streaming, member profiles, groups, direct messaging, paid memberships, engaging members content and more. Members can even have verified profiles which are based on definitions you create.
There are no fixed pricing plans on Honeycommb but rather pricing based on community growth. This starts at $89 for the first 1000 users. Some features are available as addons and have their own individual pricing.
To get started with Honeycommb web version, a 14-day free trial is available and you’ll need to enter your credit card for this.
Access to the web version is immediate while the Full suite (iOS and Android apps) version is ready in 1-3 days.
5. Uuki
Another option to Mighty Networks is Uuki, which creators and brands can use to build engaging communities around their products and offerings.
Uuki is a great alternative if you want a cheaper option as plans start at $19/month. Posts and discussions, member profiles with private messaging and group chat and paid membership are some of the core features available. It is not as feature-rich as Mighty Networks and you can’t do courses or live stream.
Uuki offers a 14-day free trial without a credit card to get started.
Should You Use Mighty Networks?
