The first step is to create your login by signing up with email and password. You’ll also need to check some boxes to agree to some website policies – Terms of Use, privacy and so on.
2. Choose a plan
The first step is to choose a Hidive plan to get started with your free trial. The two plans are highlighted as well as any benefits to help you make your choice.
Promo codes do not work with the annual plan since that price is already discounted. If you have one from the first step, you’ll need to choose the monthly plan to redeem it.

Another way to get a Hidive free trial is to subscribe to the premium channel on Amazon Prime Video channels.
Prime Video is Amazon’s subscription video streaming service where you can watch movies and TV shows. They also have premium channels like Crunchy Roll, MGM+, and Screambox, available as addons all starting with at least 7 days free trial.
This may be the most convenient way to get a Hidive free trial if you are already an Amazon Prime member. If you’re not a Prime member, you can try the service or just Prime Video with a 30-day free trial.
To get started with your Hidive free trial, follow the steps below.
- Go to the Hidive channel page in Prime Video
- Click on the “More details” button on the channel banner.
- On the next page, click on the “Start your free trial” button
- Confirm your payment details
- After confirming your details, click on the “Start your free trial” button to start watching.
Amazon does not charge you when you start your free trial. This is done at the end of your free trial period unless you cancel your subscription. You will still be able to watch Hidive anime until your free trial ends if you cancel.
Add HIDIVE on The Roku Channel
The Roku Channel is yet another way to experience Hidive especially if you have a Roku streaming device.
Even if you don’t have a Roku, you can still get a free trial of Hidive by signing up in your internet browser at The Roku Channel’s website.
Similar to Amazon Prime Video channels, you can watch movies and TV shows on The Roku Channel in their app or in your browser. The only difference is that The Roku Channel is completely free and doesn’t require a subscription.
You can also subscribe to various premium channels, including Hidive, starting with a free trial. The Roku Channel gives you more flexibility, allowing both monthly and annual plans.

- Select a billing cycle from the sidebar that opens. There are two plans available – a monthly and an annual plan. Click the “confirm selection” button at the bottom.
- Confirm or set up your payment method on the next page, then click on “start your free trial” to begin watching.
You can watch Hidive in The Roku Channel’s free app on any Roku device or watch in your internet browser. If you don’t want to be charged, you’ll need to cancel before your free trial expires. You’ll still be able to access Hidive content until the trial period expires.
Price After HIDIVE Free Trial
There are two plans to choose from when signing up for a Hidive free trial. A monthly plan costs $5.99 and this plan is available on all platforms.
An annual plan will cost about a dollar per month less than the monthly plan. This is like getting two months for free.
On Hidive.com, the annual plan costs $59.99 which works out to be about $4.99/month. There is no annual plan when you sign up through Amazon Prime Video and on The Roku Channel, the annual plan is $59.99 which is the same as the annual plan on the official website.
Since a credit card is required to start a free trial, you’ll always know or have the option to choose the price you want to pay for the service. You can cancel at any time to avoid automatic billing.
What’s Showing on HIDIVE?
Hidive has a lot of high quality anime titles. They don’t seem to have a lot of the popular classic titles though.
I searched for Naruto, Attack on Titan, Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, and more before I started to feel like the search engine was broken.

Should You Keep HIDIVE After the Free Trial?
Anime fans should consider Hidive as another great place to find shows they want to watch.

$5.99/month seems like a fair price for what you get from Hidive. If you subscribe through the website or access through their app, they give you some good features like:
