How To Get A PBS Kids Free Trial
Although PBS Kids has an official website where kids can play games and watch live TV and PBS video content, it is not the same as the PBS Kids premium channel.
The PBS Kids channel offers streaming on-demand video content in English and Spanish and can only be accessed through Amazon Prime Video Channels. You can stream PBS Kids content in the Prime Video app after starting your subscription with a 7-day free trial.
Unlike other streaming OTT services, PBS Kids isn’t available anywhere else. It does not have it’s own website or app and it is not available on other subscription services like Apple TV or YouTubeTV.

Getting a PBS Kids Free Trial on Prime Video
Prime Video is Amazon’s streaming video platform where subscribers can watch TV series, movies and like events like sports and news.
You can also subscribe to premium channels like Noggin’, Paramount+, and Boomerang, all starting with a 7-day free trial. PBS Kids is one of over 100 channels offered through Prime Video.
You’ll need to have an active Prime subscription or a standalone Prime Video subscription to be able to subscribe to any of these channels. You can start a Prime subscription with a 30-day free trial.
To get your free trial of PBS Kids on Prime Video, follow the steps below even if you’re not a Prime subscriber. You can start both free trials together.
- Go to the PBS Kids channel page in Prime Video
- Click on the “More details” button on the channel banner
- On the next page, click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button.
- Confirm your payment details.
- After confirming your details, click on the “Start Your Free Trial” button to start watching.
Now, your kids can start watching PBS Kids content on their favorite device through the Prime Video app.

What’s Showing on PBS Kids?
PBS Kids carries lots of great on-demand kids programming that aired on their PBS Kids channel. The target audience for these shows are from ages 2-8.
There are some exceptions, most notably Sesame Street, which currently streams on Max, and Curious George which streams on Peacock. At the moment, you wouldn’t see these titles on PBS Kids on Amazon Prime.

PBS Kids costs only $4.99/month and there are lots of content, from full seasons of shows, shorts and movies for your kids to enjoy. PBS Kids is also known for their quality programming which is both entertaining and educational.
I would definitely say that it’s worth the $4.99/month to keep the kids entertained while they’re on their devices. Start with the free trial and watch some of the shows with them. I’m sure they will be entertained especially if they already have a favorite character.
